aMoiBe design
Change and connection are at the core of what I see and make. I work with my head, heart and hands to transform materials with a past into unique art jewels and objects.
Finding form is integral to my creative process. I use two-dimensional experimentation with drawing, painting and photography as context and sometimes concept for my three-dimensional art and ‘art to wear’.
aMoiBe design was born from a desire to take artistic expression to a three-dimensional realm through creative reuse. My main inspirations are the concept of transformation, bold organic forms and negative space - elements ubiquitous in nature and art rooted in the natural world.
The aMoiBe design studio is mobile, it exists wherever I take it. I work in different locations, including my home studio in The Hague, a group atelier nearby, my grandfather's old toolshed in the countryside and the Swiss Alps during family visits. Wherever I am, I prefer to work outside!
Being transparent about the ‘why, how, what and where’ of aMoiBe design art jewels and objects and sharing some of my two-dimensional 'finding form' activities is an important aspect of what I do. It tells the story, including 'the good, the bad and the ugly', behind my work.
